Case Report on Injectable Gel Reaction

Hydrophilic polyacrylamide gel (PAAG) is not FDA-approved in the United States but has been used as a permanent filler for cosmetic uses around the world for several decades. Complications from the injectable gel are cited by many articles and case reports. Our triple-board-certified cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini, published the case report below after a 54-year-old woman sought help from New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts in 2017 to remove the injected polyacrylamide gel in favor of silicone implant breast augmentation.
