Recapturing the “Triangle of Youth” with NovaThreads

 karlinsky-novathread-image
Did you know that a youthful face has three distinguishing features? High cheek bones, supple cheeks, and a shapely, well-defined jawline make up what is recognized as the “triangle of youth”. With age, our “youthful V” gives way to the “pyramid of age” as the widest point of the face shifts from the cheeks to the jawline. Now an inverted V, the face is defined by deflated cheeks, distinct lines that run between the nose and the mouth (also known as nasolabial folds), and a sagging jawline.

NLNL, Kybella - Image
A fuller, lax jawline can detract from an otherwise balanced and beautiful facial appearance. We have good news for our patients who struggle with submental fullness, better known as a double chin, and for men and women experiencing skin laxity, often manifesting as sagging jowls. New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts® now offers “KyTherapy”, a unique blend of two effective minimally invasive treatments: Kybella and Ultherapy.

Brow Lift | Forehead Lift

An older woman in Manhattan shows off brow lift results
Deep forehead lines and a drooping brow can make you appear older. No matter how much sleep you get or how happy you are, you may get comments that you look like you’re upset or tired constantly. The brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can eliminate these signs of aging by repositioning the brow and softening forehead furrows.

If you’re interested in a brow lift or another face procedure, please contact New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts in Manhattan today at (855) 329-1482 to schedule your consultation. Dr. Karlinsky is a triple board-certified cosmetic surgeon who specializes in face, breast, and body surgery and treatments.

What is a Brow Lift?

The brow lift is designed to restore a youthful appearance by raising the positioning of the brow and smoothing lines and wrinkles such as frown lines between the eyebrows. It’s often combined with other facial cosmetic surgeries including eyelid surgery to deliver a refreshed look, as drooping eyelids are also a big concern for many of our Manhattan patients.

You will need to go under general anesthesia for your forehead lift. Dr. Karlinsky will make a precise incision within your hairline, paying close attention to providing natural-looking results. To contour the upper area of your face, she will lift your forehead skin (potentially muscles too), then redrape the tissue and re-attach it to your bone structure. The forehead lift smoothens and tightens the skin to eliminate or significantly reduce sagging and wrinkles.

Brow lift surgery can take around two to three hours to complete and is an outpatient procedure at our Manhattan surgical facility. You’ll relax in our recovery room for several hours after your forehead lift, and a loved one will need to be available to drive you home.

Candidates for a brow lift should be in good health and have sagging eyebrows due to the aging process or facial injury. You will need to discontinue smoking and avoid blood thinners and NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen for 10-14 days before and after your forehead lift.

This is a surgical procedure, and though the brow lift is considered highly safe, there are potential complications including poor scarring, infection, or bleeding. That’s why Dr. Karlinsky gives out her personal phone number for patients to contact her immediately for questions and concerns during recovery.

Brow Lift Recovery & Results

Rest up at home during the first week following your brow lift. Dr. Karlinsky will discuss your recovery in depth, but it’s essential to keep your head elevated to reduce swelling quickly. You should be healed fully within a few weeks with an accurate picture of your new forehead and brow area. Your results are permanent, but we can’t stop the aging process altogether, so a slight relaxing of the skin in the area will occur over time.

Schedule Your Forehead Lift Consultation in Manhattan

Dr. Karlinsky will not recommend a cosmetic surgery unless it’s the best way to reach your aesthetic goals. Men and women with mild to moderate drooping brows and lines may want to try injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic to immobilize muscles or Juvéderm and Restylane to restore lost volume and fill in wrinkles. A Facelift or the mini-facelift may also be a good fit for you.

If you struggle with drooping brows, please contact Dr. Karlinsky in Manhattan today at (855) 329-1482 to schedule your forehead lift consultation. New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts serves patients in surrounding NYC areas.
