Breast Reduction

Reduction Mammaplasty in NYC

Disproportionately large breasts can overpower a woman’s figure and cause physical and emotional problems. Big breasted women often struggle with neck, back, and shoulder pain, bra strap indentions, skin chafing and infection, and the inability to perform certain tasks such as jogging. A breast reduction with our female cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Victoria Karlinsky-Bellini, can balance your breasts and body shape and alleviate the issues you’ve faced due to macromastia (abnormally large breasts).

Schedule your one-on-one consultation with triple-board-certified Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini today by calling (855) 361-8492 to see if a breast reduction is right for you. New Look New Life Surgical Arts offers face, breast, and body cosmetic surgeries to patients in Manhattan and nearby NYC areas.

Is Breast Reduction Right for Me?

Debilitating pain and discomfort from overly large breasts can impact your ability to participate in sports and wear certain types of clothing. Many women are self-conscious of their large breast size, and breast reduction can alleviate many, if not all, of these symptoms. Breast reduction can be useful for women of any age who have fully developed breasts. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini also offers male breast reduction for men with gynecomastia, a condition in which breast tissue overdevelops causing enlarged breasts and sensitivity.

During your consultation, Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will listen to your concerns and develop a surgical plan to best accomplish your goals for a well-balanced figure. Your breast reduction surgery will be scheduled shortly after your in-office consultation

The Breast Reduction Procedure

Breast reduction surgery begins with the removal of excess breast tissue from the top and sides of the breast through a series of incisions around the nipples (areolas) to reach the ideal size and shape. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will then reposition and center the breast tissue and nipples to achieve a youthful, lifted placement. Some scarring will be concealed in the darker pigment of the areolas while others will fade over time.

The procedure is performed at our surgical facility and takes approximately three hours. No overnight stay is required. You can rest in our comfortable suite before going home with a friend or family member. You will need help for the first 24-48 hours, and Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini is available to answer any questions or concerns during your recovery. She gives out her cell phone number to patients so you can rest assured you’re in good hands and have the ability to contact your cosmetic surgeon.

As with any invasive surgery, there are some risks with breast reduction, including infection, bleeding, and poor scarring, which is another reason why patients are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini immediately with concerns. The breast reduction procedure overall is a safe and effective way to reduce breast size permanently.

Recovering from Breast Reduction

We understand that our Manhattan patients have busy lifestyles and schedules, and you’ll likely be able to return to work after week one of recovery. You’ll need to get plenty of rest and avoid putting a strain on your new breasts. Avoid bending, stretching, lifting, and running until told otherwise. You will have a follow-up appointment at New Look New Life Surgical Arts the day after your breast reduction and again a week later. Over the following weeks and months, bruising, swelling, and scarring will fade, and nipple sensation will return gradually.

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will go over your pre- and post-operative instructions. That will include quitting smoking for at least 10-14 days before breast reduction surgery as well as avoiding medications that thin the blood and NSAIDs including aspirin, Advil, Aleve, and Ibuprofen.

Breast Reduction Results

Many of our breast reduction patients are thrilled with their smaller, firmer, and more proportionate breasts. Your results will be noticeable right away, and as you heal, you’ll continue to notice and enjoy the freedom of smaller breasts. You will be able to wear clothing that wasn’t an option before and enjoy activities that were previously painful and limited due to your large breasts.

Breast reduction results are permanent, but weight gain, pregnancy, and other factors can impact your breast size in the future. Some patients may need or want a breast lift, later on, to address breast drooping and sagging that occurs with age and body changes.

Read reviews from real patients.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast Lift in NYC

You are still the same woman you were when you were younger, but sometimes the changes your body goes through after pregnancy or weight loss can have you feeling the opposite. If life has left your breasts sagging and without their once youthful perk, a breast lift with Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini is an effective way to redefine your youthful feminine figure.

What is a breast lift?

Breast lift surgery is simply a lifting and reshaping of the breast skin and tissue to achieve a firmer look and feel. A breast lift alone does not add volume, though it can be performed in conjunction with breast implant surgery for further enhancement of the shape and size of the breasts.

Is a breast lift right for me?

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini recommends breast lift surgery for women who are happy with the size of their breasts, but not the appearance. Whether the result of aging, pregnancy, or breastfeeding, a loss of skin elasticity can cause the breasts to drop or sag over time. While the size of the breasts may not have changed, the sagging can produce a flattened or deflated look of the breasts. Similarly, women who have lost a large amount of weight may experience sagging from excess skin or loss of elasticity.

How soon can I have a breast lift?

During your consultation with Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini, she will listen to your concerns and help you determine if a lift will achieve your goals on its own. Your surgical appointment may be scheduled a short time after consultation. Call us today at (855) 329-1482 if you have any questions regarding the breast lift procedure or would like to schedule a breast lift consultation, or schedule a consultation online at our Manhattan location. Schedule Consultation Online

When will I see the results of my breast lift?

You will enjoy the results of your breast lift immediately after surgery. However, you will need to wear a small surgical bra or compression garment for a few days to help skin heal correctly.

How should I prepare for a breast lift?

Blood-thinning medication and NSAIDs such as aspirin, Advil® or ibuprofen, Aleve®, and smoking must be avoided 10-14 days before and after surgery.

How is a breast lift performed?

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will perform your breast lift by making a series of incisions on the breast and around the areola. Each woman is different and, as such, Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini skillfully performs each procedure according to your own unique needs and goals. Most often your New York cosmetic surgeon will pull the breast tissue up and reposition the nipple and areola higher on the breast to create the lifting effect. During this time, she can also address the size or appearance of your areola and nipple.

How long does a breast lift take?

Breast lift surgery takes approximately 2-2.5 hours and can be performed at our surgical center in Manhattan.

Do I have to stay overnight after a breast lift?

There is no need to stay overnight after your procedure, but it is important that a family member or friend is available to drive you home and stay with you to assist you during recovery.

How long does recovery take?

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will advise you to rest at home for 2-3 days after surgery before returning to work. You will be somewhat sore and stiff during your recovery and must be careful to avoid straining, lifting, or running. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled with Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini 1 day after surgery and again 7 days after surgery. Nipple sensation will gradually return and scars will diminish in the months following your breast lift.

How soon can I start exercising after a breast lift?

You will need to take caution with your improved breasts after lift surgery, but you should be able to start exercising again within 7-10 days.

What are the breast lift risks?

You are in experienced surgical hands with Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini. However, as with other surgical procedures, complications could include infection, bleeding, or poor scarring. The severity of your breast lift scars will significantly reduce over time. Some visible scars will remain, which are easily covered by clothing and bathing suits.

Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini’s cell phone immediately.

How long will my breast lift results last?

Breast lift surgery results are long lasting, but, depending on your age, you may opt to repeat the surgery after your skin relaxes over many years.

How much does a breast lift cost?

At New Look New Life, breast lift surgery starts as low as $8,500. A fairly competitive price in New York City (NYC) area. You will be given a detailed quote during your consultation. The cost of your breast lift will include your surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, facility and operating room fees, required garments, and all of your follow-up visits. What are patients saying after a breast lift?

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini is very adept at each of these procedures and may recommend combining one of them with your breast lift for the most pleasing results.

Breast Augmentation

Manhattan woman in bra shows breast augmentation resultsEvery woman is unique, and no two breasts are the same. Your breasts go through many changes in life due to pregnancy, weight loss, or volume loss caused by aging. Breast augmentation can enhance the size of your breasts to restore your pre-baby figure, correct unevenness, or to achieve a larger bust. Our cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Victoria Karlinsky-Bellini, will customize your breast augmentation to reach your aesthetic goals and give you the confident, new life you deserve.

If you’re interested in breast augmentation, please contact New Look New Life Surgical Arts in Manhattan today at (855) 329-1482 to schedule your complimentary consultation. Our board-certified cosmetic surgeon provides face, breast, and body procedures to patients throughout the New York City area.

What is Breast Augmentation?

This breast surgery is performed to enlarge the size of the breasts with breast implants. We offer saline and silicone breast implants, both of which can provide a fuller, symmetrical look. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini uses the FDA-approved Natrelle® Breast Implants, which are highly-cohesive, silicone-filled implants that are designed to match your anatomy and provide natural-looking results. The science of breast augmentation has evolved over the years, and you have many options to choose from such as the implant type, size, incision site, and placement.

Learn more from Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini in the video below.

The Breast Augmentation Procedure

Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini will perform your breast augmentation in New York City at our surgical center in Manhattan. Saline implants are inserted via a small incision in the crease or fold beneath the breast or through the peri-areolar (a crescent incision in the upper portion of the nipple) region, then filled with saline (salt water) to your desired volume. Silicone breast implants are pre-filled and placed using the small incision in the breast fold.

The breast augmentation procedure takes approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete, after which you’ll be placed in a comfortable recovery room for several hours. You don’t need to stay in the hospital overnight, but you will need someone to drive you home and help you for the first 24-48 hours of your breast augmentation recovery.

Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, so breast augmentation surgeries are specific to you the patient. Our cosmetic surgeon strives to give you a customized procedure designed to deliver your individual goals for your breasts and overall figure. You’ll notice your results right away but will need to wear a light surgical bra or compression garment for several days to aid the healing process.

Candidates for Breast Augmentation

FDA regulations state you must be 18 for saline implants and at least 22 for silicone gel breast implants. Most healthy women are great candidates for breast augmentation, but if you have a family history of breast cancer or are over 35, Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini may recommend a preliminary mammogram. The breast augmentation surgery is done with general anesthesia. That means you’ll need to discontinue or avoid taking NSAIDs including aspirin, Advil or ibuprofen, Aleve, and blood thinning medication up to two weeks before and after your breast procedure.

If you’re a smoker, you’ll need to commit to quitting for at least two weeks prior and after breast surgery. Breast augmentation candidates should also have realistic expectations for results. You’ll want to wait until you’re done having children as pregnancy and breastfeeding cause significant breast and body changes.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

You may feel sore and stiff during the first week of recovery and have difficulty lifting your arms. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini emphasizes resting and avoiding strenuous activity to ensure proper healing. You’ll come in for a follow up the day after your breast augmentation, and many of our Manhattan patients can go back to work two or three days afterward. It’s important to take it easy and listen to your body. Full recovery takes one month or longer, and any scarring will fade over time as well.

Generally, patients can start light exercise 7-10 days after breast surgery but refrain from running and lifting heavy objects (including children) until our cosmetic surgeon has cleared you to do so.

Your breast enhancement with saline or silicone implants will give you the volume and breast size you’ve wanted for many years. Over time, your skin may relax, causing the breasts to droop and change shape. In that case, a breast lift may be necessary down the road to maintain your figure.

View our before and after gallery to see results from previous patients. Patients that have received breast augmentations with Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini are thrilled with their new breasts, and you can read our patient reviews to learn more.

How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost?

At our Manhattan office, our breast augmentation procedures start as low as $7,500. Our board-certified cosmetic surgeon will give you a detailed quote during your consultation. The full cost of your breast augmentation involves the surgical and anesthesia fees, facility and operating room expenses, cost of your chosen breast implants, recovery garments, and follow-up appointments at New Look New Life Surgical Arts. We offer financing options and information on how to pay for your breast augmentation in New York.

Alternatives to Breast Augmentation

Sometimes, breast augmentation with saline or silicone implants isn’t the best option for women. You may have better results with a breast lift or another alternative. If you want to increase your breast size without implants, you may be a good candidate for fat transfer breast augmentation. The fat transfer method involves removing fat from another area of your body via liposuction such as the “love handles” or abdomen and re-introducing it into your breasts to provide more volume. Breast implant revision is another standard procedure to correct complications from a previous augmentation or update results years after the initial surgery.

Breast Augmentation Risks

As with any invasive surgery, there are risks and complications of breast augmentation such as bleeding, infection, scarring, and abnormal firmness of the breasts. Dr. Karlinsky-Bellini has extensive experience and has performed hundreds of safe and successful breast augmentation surgeries.
