SkinTyte II™ Versus Ultherapy®: What Should You Know About Non-surgical Skin Tightening?

Posted July 12, 2022 in Non-Surgical Treatments

3 Minute Read:

Let’s face it, the reality is that every one of us has (or will someday develop) loose skin on one or more areas of our bodies. This excess could be the result of age or could be caused by a life event, such as pregnancy or weight loss.

Regardless of the reason why the skin is loose, it can be bothersome and embarrassing. That’s where plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments come in.

If you aren’t looking to go under the knife, then non-surgical skin tightening is the way to go (and is appropriate for many qualifying candidates). Two of the most trusted and successful non-surgical treatments are SkinTyte II™ and Ultherapy®

But what’s the difference, and which one is right for you?

Below, you will find more information about these two procedures.

What Is SkinTyte II™, and How Is It Done?

SkinTyte II™ is a transformative skin tightening treatment that uses infrared lasers to gently (but effectively) heat the target area and promote collagen production. This is important to the health of your skin as collagen is responsible for your skin’s strength and elasticity.

Over time, the production of collagen in your body decreases, causing pesky wrinkles and sagging skin. By stimulating new collagen growth, your skin will naturally firm and tighten.

For this procedure, your technician at New Look New Life will direct the SkinTyte II™ handpiece over the treatment area(s). Rapid pulses of infrared light are then directed deep into the layers of your skin to heat and reawaken the cells, causing it to grow healthier and at a quicker pace.

What Is Ultherapy®, and How Is It Done?

Ultherapy® is one of the most trusted skin tightening procedures on the market. Similar to SkinTyte II™, Ultherapy® works to tighten loose and sagging skin by stimulating the production of collagen in your body; however, Ultherapy® uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to do so.

For this procedure, your technician at New Look New Life will place the Ultherapy® device on the targeted area to deliver ultrasound energy into the layers of your skin to heat it up, thereby increasing collagen production.

What Are the Differences Between These Non-surgical Skin Tightening Treatments, and Which Is Right for You?

If you’ve read the information above, you may be wondering what the difference really is between these two treatments, right?

While they both are effective non-surgical procedures aimed at tightening loose skin, there are several differences to keep in mind if you are considering either of these treatment options.

The first difference is the area of correction. SkinTyte II™ is geared to tighten skin on various areas of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, arms, and thighs.

Ultherapy®, on the other hand, can help address loose skin on the face and neck and is often considered a non-surgical alternative to facelift surgery or neck lift surgery

Another difference between the two is the number of sessions needed to attain optimal results. SkinTyte II™ patients generally require four treatments whereas Ultherapy® tends to work after only one treatment.

Your results from these procedures traditionally last about two years before needing maintenance treatments to continue your rejuvenating results; however, the specific treatment you choose depends largely on the area of your body you are looking to improve and whether you want a one-and-done treatment.

At your consultation, one of our skilled and trained providers will be able to help you decide which treatment is the best for you.
