Lips are in! And while highly enviable, most are not blessed with a naturally voluptuous pout. Increasingly, women are seeking out cosmetic enhancement to achieve fuller lips. Although excited by the prospect of a shapely pucker, many women remain hesitant in fear of unnatural looking results.

While we appreciate your concern, there is no need to deprive yourself of having the plump pout you desire. At New Look New Life, we approach lip augmentation with a sensible approach. Aware of the importance of basic lip aesthetics, we are careful to subtly enhance the lips.

Not Volume Alone

You may be asking yourself, just what are the basics of lip aesthetics? A naturally appearing lip needs to focus on proportion, definition, and volume. Characteristics of beautiful lip include:

• Flattering distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip

• A balanced and complimentary degree of fullness

• A full bottom lip that is slightly bigger than the top lip

• Well-shaped, defined, and symmetrical cupid’s brow

• A strong and sharply defined vermilion border

Most important, however, is to create a lip unique to your facial characteristics. With extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, our surgeons are able to enhance your lips while maintaining their normal anatomy.

Start Slow

As with anything new, it is best to start slowly and build volume over time. “My recommendation is to go slow,” says Dr. Karlinsky. She continues, “Conservative methods are always best when it comes to lip augmentation, especially when doing it for the first time.”

All Around the Lips

Lip augmentation can also help improve the appearance of the delicate skin surrounding the lip. A fuller lip can help fade the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that have formed around the mouth. In addition to augmenting the lips, facial fillers can also be used to rejuvenate the area surrounding the lips. Fine lines around the lips make for an aged appearance.

To best achieve a youthful pout, Dr. Karlinsky explains, “I always offer a combination treatment for my patients who have upper lip lines. I like using Restylane Silk and small amounts of Botox or Dysport. The botulinum toxin relaxes the muscle and the fillers helps to smooth out the skin.”

Your New Lips!

Lip Augmentation is a wonderful way to subtly enhance the natural shape and fullness of your lips. To ensure optimal results, our surgeons utilize both facial fillers and fat grafting. When done properly, either treatment can give your lips a rejuvenated, youthful fullness.
