Asclera®

Sclerotherapy in NYC

Show off your legs with confidence and save yourself of embarrassing visible veins with Asclera®. Asclera® is a non- surgical vein injection therapy (sclerotherapy) that we perform to treat both spider and uncomplicated reticula veins.

How is Asclera® used to treat spider veins?

Asclera® is a vein injection therapy, or sclerotherapy, that is also highly effective in the cosmetic treatment for vein conditions including spider veins and uncomplicated reticula veins. Once injected, Asclera® causes the lining of blood vessels to swell and block the flow of blood. The vessels then clot and the body slowly disintegrates the vein.

Is Asclera® right for me?

Spider veins appear as tiny red or blue veins close to the skin’s surface, typically on the legs. Our doctors expertly use minimally invasive Asclera® injections at our Manhattan and Westchester centers to eliminate the appearance of both spider veins in men and women.

When can I schedule my Asclera® treatment?

Your doctor will conduct a brief consultation with you to determine if Asclera® is right for you. Most patients are able to have their first treatment during this appointment.

How soon will I see results from Asclera®?

Most patients enjoy a remarkable improvement after just one treatment, though it is often necessary to schedule multiple treatments for optimal results.

How should I prepare for spider vein treatment?

Beyond your consultation, no specific preparation is needed.

How is Asclera® used for vein treatment?

Each visible vein will be carefully addressed with injections of Asclera®. It is very common for patients to need several injection treatments over a series of appointments. This allows time for the medication to thrombose the veins and for our doctor to evaluate progress and retreat any stubborn areas.

How long does Asclera® treatment take?

Each vein treatment session takes just about 30 to 45 minutes.

How long does recovery take?

Your veins will become less and less visible as the medication takes effect and healing continues. It is recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, hot tubs, and plane flights for a few days after treatment. Depending on the degree of your vein treatment, we may advise you to wear support hose or compression stockings for a short period of time.

How soon can I start exercising after an Asclera® treatment?

You can comfortably resume your exercise routine in just two to three days.

What are the Asclera® risks?

Asclera® is a very safe procedure that eliminates spider veins and uncomplicated reticula veins. Rare side effects include skin irritation or itching, bruising, and allergic reactions. Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to the office immediately.

How long do Asclera® results last?

Spider veins and uncomplicated reticula veins treated with Asclera® are gone for good. It is possible for enlarged veins to appear in other areas; however, they can easily be treated with additional injections.

How much does Asclera® cost?

Asclera® is an affordable, safe, and quick type of therapy that reveals beautifully smooth legs. The cost will be reviewed during your consultation.
