The Long-Lasting Facial Filler

Radiesse is a remarkable injectable facial filler does more than just “fill-in” lines and facial wrinkles–it replenishes volume and can stimulate the production of your own natural collagen with results that last up to a year or more.

Unlike Juvederm and Restylane–which are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with your own collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin–Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite, “microspheres that are calcium based in a water-based gel.” This means that Radiesse contains larger particles, making it especially effective for treating wrinkles around the mouth and chin, as well as in “liquid facelifts,” in which facial fillers are used to enhance cheek and jaw lines. Because of its large particle size, however, Radiesse is generally not recommended for lip augmentation; Juvederm and Restylane are our preferred choices in that treatment.
