Asclera

How is Asclera used to treat spider
veins and varicose veins?
Asclera is a vein injection therapy, or sclerotherapy, that is highly effective in the cosmetic treatment of vein conditions including
spider veins and varicose veins. Once injected, Asclera causes the lining of blood vessels to swell and block the flow of blood. The vessels then clot and the body slowly disintegrates the vein.
Is Asclera right for me?
Spider veins appear as tiny red or blue veins close to the skin’s surface, typically on the legs. Varicose veins are larger blue or dark purple veins that sometimes bulge from the skin’s surface and most often appear on the legs. Dr. Karlinsky expertly uses minimally invasive Asclera injections in her Manhattan and Brooklyn centers to eliminate the appearance of both
spider veins and varicose veins in men and women.
When can I schedule my Asclera treatment?
Dr. Karlinsky will conduct a brief consultation with you to determine if Asclera is right for you. Most patients are able to have their first treatment during this appointment.
How soon will I see results from Asclera?
Most patients enjoy marked improvement after just one treatment, though it is often necessary to schedule multiple treatments for optimal results.
How should I prepare for varicose vein or spider vein treatment?
Beyond your consultation, no preparation is needed!
How does Dr. Karlinsky use Asclera for vein treatment?
Dr. Karlinsky will carefully address each visible vein with injections of Asclera. It is very common for patients to need several injection treatments over a series of appointments. This allows time for the medication to thrombose the veins and for Dr. Karlinsky to evaluate progress and retreat any stubborn areas.
How long does Asclera treatment take?
Each vein treatment session takes just 15-30 minutes.
How long does recovery take?
Your veins will become less and less visible as the medication takes affect and healing continues. It is recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, hot tubs, and plane flights for a few days after treatment. Depending on the degree of your vein treatment, Dr. Karlinsky may advise you to wear support hose or compression stockings for a short period.
How soon can I start exercising after an Asclera treatment?
You can comfortably resume your exercise routine in just 2-3 days.
What are the Asclera risks?
Asclera is highly safe for eliminating spider veins and varicose veins. Rare side effects could include skin irritation or itching, bruising, or allergic reaction.
Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky’s cell phone immediately.
How long do Asclera results last?
Spider veins and varicose veins treated with Asclera are gone for good! It is possible for enlarged veins to appear in other areas and Dr. Karlinsky can easily treat them with additional injections.
How much does Asclera cost?
Asclera is an affordable, safe, and quick therapy for achieving beautifully smooth legs. Dr. Karlinsky will review the costs with you during consultation.
