How should I prepare for my neck lift?
Neck lift surgery is most often performed under general anesthesia which requires the avoidance of blood thinning medication and NSAIDs such as aspirin, Advil® or ibuprofen, and Aleve® for 2 weeks before and after surgery. Smoking must also cease during this time.
How is a neck lift performed by Dr. Karlinsky?
Dr. Karlinsky is highly adept at the careful balance between natural results and noticeable improvement. During your neck lift surgery she will make a careful incision below your chin, giving her access for liposuction fat removal. Well-hidden incisions are also made behind the ears to allow tightening of the skin of the neck for a natural looking neck lift.
How long does a neck lift take?
Commonly called a "lunchtime neck lift", this surgery is completed in approximately 2-3 hours. You can schedule your neck lift in New York City or in our Brooklyn office .
Do I have to stay overnight?
No, after your neck lift you will simply rest comfortably in our recovery suite prior to riding home with a friend or relative.
How long does recovery take?
Just after surgery you should rest at home with assistance for routine tasks. Within 7-10 days you will be able to comfortably return to work, but you should wait to resume major physical activity for 2 weeks after surgery. Resting with your head elevated will aid in healing and help reduce swelling.
What are the risks?
Neck lift procedures performed by Dr. Karlinsky at New Look, New Life are very safe; surgical considerations include the risk of poor scarring, infection, or bleeding.
