How soon can I have lip augmentation?
Following a brief consultation with Dr. Karlinsky you will be on your way to scheduling your lip filler appointment.
When will I see the results of my lip augmentation?
Immediately! That’s the beauty of lip injections. You will leave Dr. Karlinsky’s office with lush lips the same day. Due to swelling your lips will initially look somewhat larger than their final appearance after complete healing. Most importantly, Dr. Karlinsky is committed to natural enhancements, so while your lips will look and feel much fuller they will be evenly and appropriately sized to your facial features.
How should I prepare for lip augmentation?
Lip augmentation requires almost no preparation, but you should avoid smoking for 2 weeks before and after the procedure to promote swift healing.
How is lip augmentation performed by Dr. Karlinsky?
Using a topical anesthesia, Dr. Karlinsky will gently numb your lips to ease your comfort during the injections. Many of the lip fillers contain numbing agents themselves, so the procedure is virtually painless. Depending on your desired level of enhancement, she will expertly make small injections across the lips to insert the filler. Careful attention is paid to balance and a smooth, natural feel.
How long does lip augmentation take?
Lip enhancement with synthetic fillers can be completed in less than 10 minutes.
How long does recovery take?
There is virtually no recovery period after lip injections. You may feel slight tenderness as the topical anesthesia wears off; this is easily managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Some swelling or bruising may occur and will resolve in a week or so.
What are the lip augmentation risks?
Lip augmentation through facial fillers is extremely safe. Occasionally patients experience some itching or redness at the injection sites. Risk of bleeding, infection, or uneven lips is rare but possible.
Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky’s cell phone immediately.
How long will lip augmentation last?
Synthetic lip fillers
typically last about 6 months and can easily be repeated in a follow-up procedure.
How much does lip augmentation cost?
Lip augmentation is a very affordable way to enhance your appearance with just a simple procedure. Dr. Karlinsky will review the costs with you during consultation.

What are the alternatives to lip augmentation?
Lip filler treatment is available through a range of synthetic products. Some patients opt for fat transfer
, involving the injection of your own fat cells into the lips, which tends to produce longer lasting results. Many patients choose to have other fillers added to the face, such as Botox
, or Restalyne
, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in other areas of the face. These procedures can be performed at the same time for even more significant rejuvenation.
