When will I see the results of my facelift?
Dr. Karlinsky’s facelift results are immediate; however, just after the procedure you will notice bruising and swelling that will subside over time. Your skin will feel much smoother and tighter and your face will appear more youthful and rejuvenated.
How should I prepare for my facelift?
Since your facelift will be performed under general anesthesia you must follow all pre-surgical guidelines outlined by Dr. Karlinsky. Blood thinning medication and NSAIDs such as aspirin, Advil® or ibuprofen, and Aleve® must be avoided 10-14 days before and after surgery. You will be required to quit smoking two weeks before and after the procedure to optimize healing.
How is a facelift performed by Dr. Karlinsky?
While facelift surgery does give the appearance of significant age reduction, Dr. Karlinsky is dedicated to appropriate and natural restoration. During the procedure incisions are made near your ears to gain access to the skin and muscles that will be repositioned. Dr. Karlinsky carefully places the incisions in such a way that they become inconspicuous after healing. Occasionally, some minor liposuction
may be performed, though typically it is not necessary. Depending on your problem areas, Dr. Karlinsky will focus on removing excess skin of the neck
, chin, and cheeks to refresh your appearance.
How long does a facelift take?
Facelift surgery takes approximately 3-4 hours.
Do I have to stay overnight for a facelift?
Absolutely not! Dr. Karlinsky will perform your facelift procedure at one of her surgical centers in Manhattan
. After the procedure you will rest comfortably in our beautiful recovery room. You will need to arrange for a ride home from the procedure.
How long does recovery take?
Dr. Karlinsky recommends you take one week off from work to recover at home. Over the course of the week your swelling and bruising will subside and within a month your new and improved face and neck will have fully healed.
What are the facelift risks?

are highly safe, though as with other surgeries complications could include poor scarring, nerve damage, infection, or bleeding.
