Brow / Forehead Lift

What is a brow lift?

Brow lift, eyebrow lift, or forehead lift cosmetic surgery helps men and women achieve a more youthful, awakened appearance. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is often performed in conjunction with a brow lift to optimize results. Dr. Karlinsky specializes in the natural rejuvenation of brows and foreheads with refreshing results.

Is a brow lift right for me?

Dr. Karlinsky is highly skilled in cosmetically restoring a younger, smoother forehead and eyebrow area. Patients in good general health who wish to reduce the signs of aging and address sagging or lower eyebrows are good candidates for brow lift surgery. This procedure also addresses creases in the forehead and frown lines that can develop between the eyebrows.

How soon can I have my brow lift?

You may schedule your brow lift with Dr. Karlinsky after your thorough consultation with her at New Look, New Life in Manhattan.

When will I see the results of my brow lift?

Dr. Karlinsky’s brow lift results are immediate. As you recover from the procedure and your facial tissue heals you will continue to see improvement in your smoother brow and refreshed appearance.

How should I prepare for my brow lift?

Since your brow lift will be performed under general anesthesia you must follow all pre-surgical guidelines outlined by Dr. Karlinsky. Blood thinning medication and NSAIDs such as aspirin, Advil® or ibuprofen, and Aleve® must be avoided 10-14 days before and after surgery. You will be required to quit smoking two weeks before and after the procedure to optimize healing.

How is a brow lift performed by Dr. Karlinsky?

While you are under general anesthesia Dr. Karlinsky will expertly place your incision just within your hairline. With careful attention to natural results she will essentially lift your forehead skin, and possibly muscles, and reattach it to the bone. As she contours the upper area of your face, she will smooth and tighten the skin to address wrinkles and sagging.

How long does a brow lift take?

Brow lift surgery takes approximately 2-3 hours.

Do I have to stay overnight for a brow lift?

There is no need to say overnight. Dr. Karlinsky will perform your brow lift at one of her surgical centers in Manhattan or Brooklyn. After the procedure you will rest comfortably in our beautiful recovery room before having a relative or friend drive you home.

How long does recovery take?

You will be advised to rest at home for one week following your brow lift. Elevating your head will help reduce swelling more quickly. Within a few short weeks you should be completely healed and will have a true picture of your new forehead and brow area.

What are the brow lift risks?

Dr. Karlinsky’s brow lifts are highly safe. As with other surgeries, complications could include poor scarring, infection, or bleeding.

Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky’s cell phone immediately.

How long will my brow lift last?

Brow lift results are permanent, though with the natural aging process you may notice a slight relaxing of your forehead skin over many years.

How much does a brow lift cost?

Your brow lift investment will be covered in detail during your initial consultation.

What are the alternatives to a brow lift?

Some patients can achieve very positive results by rejuvenating their forehead and brow area with facial filler injections and botulinum toxin such as Botox, Dysport, Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, or Radiesse. During your consultation Dr. Karlinsky will give you an overview of the procedures that can best help you achieve your cosmetic goals. A facelift or mini facelift may also be considered.
