Body Lift

Body lift cosmetic procedure, New YorkWhat is a body lift?

A full body lift is a comprehensive procedure for addressing excess tissue and fat in patients who have lost extreme amounts of weight, especially those who have undergone bariatric or gastric bypass surgery. For these men and women, exercise cannot eliminate the larger amounts of excess skin that have lost their elasticity.

Dr. Karlinsky customizes each body lift procedure to the patient and their unique needs for improvements of the abdomen, buttocks, back, and thighs.

Is a body lift right for me?

Massive weight loss is an amazing accomplishment that should be rewarded with not only a healthier life, but also a more confident outlook. For many, the excess skin that remains after weight loss restricts movement and comfortable dress, and prevents complete enjoyment of the weight loss. Dr. Karlinsky recommends that patients maintain their weight loss for a minimum of six months to a year prior to choosing body lift surgery.

At New Look, New Life, Dr. Karlinsky prides herself on tailoring the safest and most effective cosmetic treatments to each individual patient. Drawing on her general surgery background, she often recommends that patients undergo body lift procedures in two or more stages. Anesthesia risks are reduced, recovery is more manageable, and cost is more effective.

How soon can I schedule my body lift?

Dr. Karlinsky is skilled in safely performing body lift procedures with the most natural and appealing results; however, the decision to have body lift surgery should not be taken lightly. Following thorough consultation with you and your physician, as well as medical clearance, Dr. Karlinsky’s staff will schedule the phases of your body lift.

When will I see the results of my body lift?

Whether performed as a total procedure or staged in sections, body lift results are immediate and significant. As with most cosmetic procedures, your enhanced body will continue to improve throughout the healing process.

How are body lifts performed by Dr. Karlinsky?

If you choose to stage your body lift, Dr. Karlinsky will likely perform your lower body lift separate from your upper body lift. Your lower body lift will likely include a tummy tuck, thigh lifts, and a butt lift or buttocks enhancement. Your upper body lift will include a chest or breast lift, back lift, and arm lifts. She will skillfully make as few incisions as possible, removing excess fat and skin as suitable for your body. Her dedication to natural contouring and appropriate size reduction will give you the more slender and tighter appearance you desire.

A total body lift is a substantial surgical procedure performed in a hospital setting. Patients who undergo total body lift surgery will spend a few days recovering in the hospital prior to returning home to rest.

Do I have to stay overnight after my body lift?

For patients who choose to stage their body lift procedures, an overnight stay is not required and Dr. Karlinsky will perform the body lifts at one of her surgical centers in Manhattan or Brooklyn. If you choose to have a total body lift then you will require overnight hospital stays.

How long does recovery take?

Body lift recovery requires 1-2 weeks if done in stages. A total body lift requires a significant amount of additional rest and recovery time.

What are the risks of body lifts?

While Dr. Karlinsky is very experienced in body lift procedures, surgical complications could include adverse reaction to anesthesia, blood clots, infection, or bleeding. Proper adherence to recovery guidelines is important to prevent wound separation or the need for additional wound care.

Patients experiencing any unusual or concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Karlinsky’s cell phone immediately.

How long will my body lift results last?

Body lifts yield drastic skin reduction results that are permanent. As the body naturally ages, some skin elasticity will be lost; however, maintaining a consistent weight will preserve your body lift results indefinitely.

How much do body lifts cost?

Once it is determined how your body lift procedures will be staged, Dr. Karlinsky will outline all detailed expenses.

What are the alternatives to body lifts?

During your initial consultation, Dr. Karlinsky will listed to you body goals and present you with a range of cosmetic procedures that might be right for you. She will give you a thorough understanding of your options that might include liposuction, Lunchtime Lipo, tummy tuck, thigh lift or arm lift, breast reduction, facelift or necklift, or other body and facial procedures.
